Sunburst Locust Cabin & Separate Annex Cabin feature two cabins, sleeping a total of 15 people in both cabins. The main cabin has 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, and sleeps 8. The Annex Cabin has 1 large bedroom, 1 bath, and sleeps 7.

Sunburst Locust Cabin is a spacious and inviting retreat. With newly added Wi-Fi, a Smart TV, and air conditioning, it offers the perfect balance of rustic charm and modern convenience—ideal for families and larger groups.
Inside, the cabin features a large open great room combining the kitchen, dining, and living areas. Knotty pine walls and a beautiful stone wood-burning fireplace create a warm, classic cabin atmosphere, while an auxiliary gas furnace provides comfort year-round. The fully equipped kitchen includes a stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, drip coffee maker, and single-serve Keurig, along with all cookware, dishes, and utensils needed for your stay. The living area offers comfortable seating and entertainment options for relaxing together.
Sunburst Locust sleeps up to 8 guests across three bedrooms. Two bedrooms on the main floor each feature one queen bed, while the loft bedroom includes one queen bed and two twin beds. Bed linens are provided, and there is a full bathroom with a shower on the main floor. Guests should bring their own bath towels and paper products.
Outside, the cabin offers a large wrap-around deck—partially covered and partially open—providing plenty of space to relax and take in the surrounding forest. Guests often enjoy watching wildlife from the deck, including deer and, on occasion, even black bears. The private picnic area includes a fire pit, lawn furniture, picnic tables, and a charcoal grill for outdoor meals and evening campfires.
Sunburst Locust Annex (Optional)
For larger groups, an additional cabin (the Annex) is available exclusively with Sunburst Locust. The main cabin accommodates up to 8 guests, and the Annex allows you to expand your group to up to 15 total guests.
The Annex is a separate, single-room cabin with a bathroom and sleeping space for up to 7 guests. It also includes basic kitchen amenities such as an apartment-sized refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and a small dining area. An outdoor porch with a picnic table provides additional space to gather.
The Annex is available for a flat rate of $150 per stay, plus tax.
Sunburst Locust Cabin and Sunburst Locust Annex Cabin accommodate a total of 15 persons. The base rate is for 4 persons. There is an additional $15 per person plus tax for each person over 4 at this location.
Pre-approved pets are $15 per night per pet, with a maximum of 2 pets per cabin.

Cancellation Policy
If you find it necessary to cancel your reservation by noon thirty (30) days prior to your arrival date, your deposit will be refunded less a re-booking fee of $75.00. Or, you may choose to apply your deposit, less the re-booking fee to a future visit within 6 months. You will forfeit your deposit if you cancel within the thirty (30) day period prior to your reservation date. Persons who arrive late or depart early receive neither a credit nor a refund.
During your stay in the cabin(s), the Owner strives to maintain the property so that you, the Guest, experience a clean and safe stay. While there may be circumstances beyond the Owner's control, the Owner will make reasonable efforts to deal with any malfunctions. The Owner cannot refund any monies due to such malfunctions but will respond as quickly as possible to make repairs or restore services. Power failures due to storms, etc. are considered beyond the Owner's control and will not constitute a refund of money. The Owner shall have the right of access to the Premises for repair and maintenance during reasonable hours.
Deposit Policy
Your deposit to hold your advance reservation is 50% of your rental fee and is to be received within 7 days of making your reservation. Deposits can be paid with Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, your debit card, check or money order.

We absolutely loved our stay. House was very clean and tidy and you'd never know it was dog friendly. Internet service was good. House was very spacious. Would suggest having towels, however, but that is not a deal breaker. Large lot, nice porch and perfect spot for fires. Next time we will bring the kiddos and their friends and utilize the extra cabin.
Lois also let us check in early and was extremely responsive.
We will definitely be back!

We have been going to the Cook Forest area for 20+ years, but this is the first time we have stayed at the Top Hill Cabins. We stayed over Labor Day weekend & although the weather wasn't perfect (really hot & then rained some) we didn't mind as the cabin & surrounding area was so nice. We stayed in the Sunburst Locust cabin. This cabin is beautiful both inside & out. You can tell the owners take great pride in their cabins as everything is keep neat, in good condition & well maintained. The cabins sit back off the main road in a wooded setting. They have everything you could need in the cabins (pots & pans, dishes etc.) We loved it so much that we booked it again for next year & plan to keep going here in the future. Well worth the money - Thank you for a wonderful time!!
We stayed in the Sunburst Locust Cabin at Top Hill Cabin and very much enjoyed our stay. The kitchen had everything needed and the entire cabin was super clean...not a dust bunny or crumb could be found anywhere! The owners are friendly and welcoming. We found our Cook Forest getaway home away from home and will certainly be back!
