  1. Are Cook Forest Top Hill Cabins pet-friendly?

Yes, we are pet-friendly. You may bring up to a maximum of 2 pets per cabin. The rate for each pet is $15 per night plus tax.

  1. What do I need to bring?

Your salt & pepper & any needed spices for cooking;  Bath & hand towels; Personal toiletries; Extra toilet paper & paper towels; Extra Kitchen Trash Bags; Large Trash Bags; Your Food to Cook; Fans; Flashlights and/or Lanterns; Camp chairs; Hot dog forks & any other needed cookware or utensils; Charcoal; Matches, lighter fluid, kindling or fire starter; DVD’s; Cards & games

  1. What is included in each cabin?

Bathroom; Bed linens and pillows with blankets and comforters; Gas cooking stove w/oven; Microwave; Refrigerator; Drip Coffee pot with filters; Keurig Coffee Pot; Toaster; Cooking utensils & basic dishes & glassware; Pots & pans; Dish soap; Dish towels & dish cloth; Can opener; Starter paper towels and toilet paper; Kitchen garbage bags; Outdoor fire pit; Picnic table; Charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal); Initial supply of firewood (approximately 25 pieces).

  1. How much is additional wood, and how do I get it?

Additional wood is $20 per load (25 pieces). It is available in a rack outside the main office. You pay an ‘on-your-honor’ system in a supplied metal cash container. Otherwise, you may call the office at 800-531-1545 to have your wood delivered if the maintenance person is available.

  1. Can I hunt directly from my cabin?

No, Cook Forest State Park has designated hunting areas that are marked on the State Park map. This map is obtainable by calling the State Park at 814-744-8407.

  1. Do we have hot tubs?

Sugar Pine Cottage has a Jacuzzi tub, but we do not have hot tubs. Our insurance company will not permit hot tubs at our cabins.

7. Do Cook Forest Top Hill Cabins have fireplaces?

Yes, most cabins have wood-burning fireplaces, but Red Bud and Red Maple Cabins do not. Twin Oaks and Hemlock Haven Cabins have gas fireplaces.

  1. Do Cook Forest Top Hill Cabins have WIFI?

There are 4 cabins that presently have WIFI. The cabins are Blue Spruce Cabin, Douglas Fir Cabin, Hemlock Haven Cabin, and Sugar Pine Cottage.

9 Are the cabins child-friendly?

Yes, all of the cabins at Cook Forest Top Hill Cabins are child-friendly.

  1. Are the cabins wheelchair accessible?

Some of the cabins are but have not been approved as such.

  1. How many persons are permitted per cabin?

The maximum capacity is listed on each cabin’s listing on this website, but I can give you a quick review.

Sugar Pine Cottage, Max. 2 persons.

Buckeye Cabin, Max. 4 persons in 2 bedrooms.

Blue Spruce, Red Maple, Twin Oaks, Maple Grove, and Red Bud Cabins all sleep up to 6 persons in 2 bedrooms.

Douglas Fir, Hemlock Haven, Hidden Oaks, Old Hickory, Sunburst Locust, and Sunset Maple all sleep up to 8  persons in 3 bedrooms.

12. Are your cabins by a lake or river?

No, but we are 3 miles from the Clarion River, where there are water activities such as canoeing, tubing, kayaking, and fishing.

  1. Do your cabins have recliners?

Unfortunately, there are no recliners in our cabins. Recliners have a tendency to break easily, so they have not been utilized. There is other comfortable furniture available in each cabin.
